If you are looking to buy a family sedan, or an old beater, or cheap fixer-upper, or a daily driver--this in NOT it. This is a sporty little 2-seat roadster in prime condition, a convertible with a hard-top and also a soft-top. It comes with a tow bar, side-curtains and a tonneau cover. This is a "fun" car, good for your ride to the golf course, a cruise around the town or country, a trip to the store or a prize winning entry at a car show. Also, this car could be a "toad" which can be towed behind a motorhome.
Many people stop, stare and ask: What is it?
This is a 1982 Mini Mark, a factory-built car, not a home-built "kit" car, and it's a real head-turner. Everyone seems to like it because it makes them smile and feel happy. Less than a hundred were built at the Bremen Sport factory in Bremen Indiana between 1965 and 1982 when the factory was destroyed by fire. Today the company continues operations as Bremen Composites which specializes in designing and fabricating fiberglass and plastic parts. Quality and craftsmanship went into building the Mini Mark. The fiberglass is thicker than most "kit" cars (1/4"-5/16"), it is even thicker than the body of a Corvette. The Mini Mark is constructed as a one piece molded fiberglass body, finished with a smooth and durable metallic gel coat (not paint) that makes it sparkle in the sunlight.
The Mini Mark itself is built on the Volkswagen Beetle platform and is powered by a remanufactured VW 4-cylinder air cooled 1600 engine that displaces 1584 cubic centimeters. With a 7.5:1 compression ratio and tuned exhaust, the engine produces 60 horsepower and is fueled with regular unleaded gasoline. This car weighs 1850 pounds and will cruise at 80 mph. Fuel economy averages 32 mpg. The gearing is a stanard 4-speed VW transmission.
