Sonora-Arizona Commission Meeting
« on: February 08, 2014, 07:43:50 PM »
Jim attended the February Plenary for the Sonora-Arizona Commission in Hermosillo.  He is pleased to report that the Rio Sonora region is leading the effort to get the DeAnza Trail recognized, and later identified with highway signs, in the state of Sonora.  As most of you know, Alamos was a key player in the DeAnza expedition as its wealthy silver mine owners contributed heavily and also about half of the appx. 300 who founded San Francisco were Alamenses.

Also, Jim was honored by being recognized by the Director of Tourism for Sonora as having been the recipient, with his wife Nancy,
of two high level national awards by Trip Advisor.   The Hacienda de los Santos Resort & Spa was the recipent of two hotel category awards which were:

'Top 25' of Mexico (Placed #2 under Boutique or small hotel category)
'Top 25' of Mexico (Placed #5 in the Luxury Hotel category)
